I can't stand when people advertise a business and they shout how much money you can make. Who the heck cares. No HR person in my day job goes looking for engineers shouting "make $250,000 a year!". Sure you can do it but the likelihood of that happening is slim. So what I do with my home business is show them an income disclosure. Similar to what a HR person would disclose. This is average salary for this level of engineer and leave it at that. My company has this document and just tells people sure you can make over $100,000 doing this business but the average is much lower. This has to be the case since like you said so many people quit before they even apply themselves. People want quick fixes and that's what gets them. They don't understand a business needs to be treated like a business and NOT a hobby. Then and only then will people make money from any legit business. I found mine that doesn't require asking people to re-buy more product. I found my calling and now I help people save money on their utility bills and I get paid for that recommendation every month because they pay their bills. People are mentally challenged and that is why there are so many self help books. Stick to a system and grow to be come a self made home business person. Great post.
