Save Money on Buying Refurbished Macs
January 6th, 2009
The notebook market is a growing one; only a few years ago, the market for notebooks, in terms of units sold, passed the sales rate for desktop machines; one of the industry leaders in notebooks, and certainly the trendsetter in design, is Apple Incorporated, makers of the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines of desktop computers. Macintoshes are elegant machines, with industry leading user interfaces and design elements, but they also command a premium price on the market, especially in their portable configuration. Fortunately, there is a market for refurbished Mac notebooks, and a thriving one, that will let you save money on buying refurbished Macs.
If you have concerns about buying refurbished Macs, put them to rest. Refurbished Macs (notebooks or desktops) are usually ’store returns’. Someone bought the notebook, set it up, found it was not for them, and returned it. Many of them were returned by people who had them on leases or a payment plan, and decided to upgrade. These machines get taken back into the shop and are extensively tested; in most cases, the hard drives are removed, overwritten, and imaged with a fresh installation of the operating system, while all other hardware questions are answered, and sometimes upgraded.
This is similar to the refurbishment process used for any other piece of consumer electronics gear. The item gets returned to the manufacturer, usually as part of a warranty replacement, it will be checked for defective components, and if it can be restored to salable condition, it is then offered for sale as a refurbished item.
Now, there are a few drawbacks on buying a Refurbished Mac ” the warranty coverage isn’t quite as sound, though you can still buy an extended warranty after you save money on buying refurbished Mac. The computer may have a few physical defects, such as a scratched case, or a scratched power brick. That being said, it is still a Mac, it is still running OS X, the best consumer desktop operating system in the world, and it’s nearly immune to viruses and malware. You are also unlikely to get your hands on the latest Mac notebook models as refurbished items.
All that said, saving money on a refurbished Mac can be a great investment; it is a good way to try out the MacOS and the hardware without paying the premium Apple charges for it, or to buy a Macintosh notebook for a student heading off to college, or to buy a second one for use around the house. Macintosh notebooks are generally high-end designs when they are released, which means that a MacBook is still an effective piece of computer hardware, even a year or two later.

Information About Online Free Slots
January 6th, 2009
From its meager beginnings a few years ago, the internet has introduced a way for people to enjoy almost all the conveniences of life without living your home. Now you can even shop for your needs without going out of your room or play at the casino on your jammies. For casino enthusiasts the slots have always been a favorite bet because of the higher payout rate compared to other casino games. With the advent of online casino gaming, online free slots have introduced a new way for casino lovers to play this indispensable game.
If you are new to the internet world, especially to online free slots, there are several things you will need to consider. Here are some of the most common questions you might ask:
1. What kind of software is used by betting room websites?
There are actually different kinds of software used by different betting rooms, but those known to be of a high standard are most common. If you browse through different casino sites, you will see the same ?marks? being used in different sites. Software which have the same marks come from the same developer and are more reliable than the others.
2. What kind of customer support service should I expect?
A good gamin room always has a 24/7 support team in the form of either the phone, email or at best, live chat. Most sites also have a section for Frequently Asked Questions on their pages. If you are new to online free slots, it is important that you look for a website which maintains a good relationship with their clients through an excellent customer support team, one you can contact any time of the day. In most cases you will need to talk to their support team to communicate about payment or if you experience a bug in their system.
3. What are the rules and requirements that apply in a betting room?
Every betting room has their own terms of service as required by law, it is best that you examine these first before deciding to play. Through this document, you will know how dispute resolution is being handled by the company and you will also have an idea on what they intend to do with your personal information.
4. What about precaution?
We all know that the internet is an unsecure place and it is only fair for a website to disclose what kind of security measures they have in place to assure the confidentiality of your information. Most times, you will see information about this on their terms of service. One way you can choose a reliable website is through gaming forums. Ask for information on the community so you will have an idea on the differences of services of one online free slots compared to the other.

Internet Marketing - Which Rights Are Best?
January 5th, 2009
So you are thinking about getting into internet marketing but are not sure where to start or ,more likely, you have some experience but are still a bit confused by some of the jargon. All this talk of different rights makes your head spin. This article looks at two of the rights terms you need to be aware of master resell rights also known as MRR and private label rights, termed PLR for convenience. Once you can get a grip of these you will be able to use them to get the money rolling in.
Master resale rights have got a lot of advantages in the money making stakes. With these rights you can not only sell the product itself but also you can sell the right to sell the product to other people. This basically means that master resell rights give you two internet marketing opportunities in one, which cannot be a bad thing for your profit margins. They give you a lot more control over your product and its content.
One thing to be aware of when you start looking into buying MRR is the cost. As with anything that stands to bring in a big profit the initial capital required is higher for MRR than other types of rights. Don’t worry; this just reflects the earning potential.
Private label rights are another big money maker that you will really want to have a look at. Again they are not cheap but the benefits you get from them are huge. Due to the fact they are so expensive you can put a premium price on the resale of them. This turns into money in your pocket. Another fantastic point about these types of rights is the people you are dealing with.
People who are into outlaying capital and making money for these rights are usually at the top of the internet marketing tree, they clearly know what they are doing. These people are more about marketing than product creation. If you can give them a top product they will keep coming back for more because, basically, you are saving them the time of working up their own product.
Everything has its drawbacks though and the problem with PLR is that you actually have to have smarts and imagination to dream up and create the products. If you lack a bit in the creativity field you may struggle but don’t worry too early. Even though it may be slightly difficult at first the benefits are really worth the effort and time you will put into it.

Unique Strategy To Implement B2B Relationship Marketing
January 5th, 2009
The performance of a relationship between two firms can be view in the following way. The Business-to-Business Relationship Performance scale is presented as a high order concept. Managers operating in a B2B e-marketplace, findings reveal that greater relationship performance results in better 1) relationship policies and practices, 2) relationship commitment, 3) trust in the relationship, 4) mutual cooperation, as well as 5) satisfaction with the relationship. The multi-dimensional scale shows strong evidence of reliability as well as convergent, discriminate and nomological validity.
It is also reveal that B2B relationship performance is positively and significantly associated with loyalty. While building on this scale. Today firms have a wide range of tools and metrics at their disposal to assess periodic performance, and they represent a critical topic in business literature and across different fields of management research. However, although both worlds are interested in the topic of metrics, the way academics and managers discuss it is quite different. Frequently practitioners have different expectations and work with different time scales than those of academics.
Moreover, it is not normally concerned with the analysis and development of metrics that might be applied at the managerial level and included in management periodic reports. The marketing trend towards a better understanding of relationship development with business partners continues to grow, as managers and researchers observe that better relationships result in a significant impact on business performance.
The development of customer relationship is an ongoing process during which relational policies and practices, trust, relationship commitment, mutual cooperation, and satisfaction with the relationship represent important dimensions to be considered. The need for enhanced corporate reputation and trust-based relationship becomes more crucial in an environment of less traditional relationship coalition, relational history, and interpersonal communication.
The new medium is fostering transitional relationship, and easy access to information and forum to critique, criticize or condemn an institution. The practice of hiding nothing is preferred because there is no where to hide. Ethics and truth, unqualified reputation and transparent honesty, therefore, become very important in the new marketplace made up of institutions and empowered consumers and stakeholders.
Proactively, rather than reactivity, becomes a very important business mantra in the postmodern digital world economy. It is easier to create and maintain reputation and trust than try to regain them. Computer technology has altered the power structure and the relationship between corporations and their publics, stakeholders and the media. Internet may be creating a shift from the traditional vertical and horizontal corporate communication paradigms.

Samsung NC10 - Small Ideas From Samsung
January 5th, 2009
Samsungs low-key entry into the netbook fray brings us the 10.2 inch Samsung NC10 netbook. With so much competition, especially amongst the larger ten inch mini laptops such as the Eee PC 1000 and MSI Wind, what does Samsung, with its existing mobile phone and laptop portfolio bring to the table?
The biggest difference is the storage space, a cracking 160GB, none of which is internet storage. That’s double the hard storage of the MSI Wind, and 4 times the amount on the baseline Eee PC 1000 models. There is of course the Eee PC 1000H, but you’ll pay fifty quid more than the Samsung - RRP 299.
Storage aside, it has other similar features to other netbooks. 10.2 inch screen anti-glare screen with 1024×600 resolution, Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, integrated 1.3 megapixel camera, bluetooth, 6-cell lithium battery promising up to 6 hours battery life and a 93% full size keyboard. And Unlike the Eee PC and its copycat rivals, it doesn’t come with a Linux option, simply Windows XP.
The keyboard and interface are interesting. Samsung have obviously had the brains to realize most people don’t have such super-thin fingers, and so have produced a keyboard that is pretty useable. They’ve made the keys proportional to their functionality, the letter keys being almost full size. The compromise is in the arrow, top line (F1, F10 etc.) and in the touchpad - the touchpad is indeed very small. In general the interface seems to be tailored for the writer.
The Samsung NC10 on the whole looks far more serious than its rival Eee PC 1000 and MSI Wind. The curves and fluff give way to straight edges and the mighty Samsung logo. Whilst not brutally ugly, the top is quite smart, I wouldn’t say the NC10 is a particularly attractive laptop - best looks go to the rival LG X110. It does have some goods bits, like the “Sony VAIO-type” power button located on the side. Colour choices are pretty mundane - white, black and blue, from best to worst.
So far, the Samsung NC10 seems, aesthetics aside, the best 10 inch mini laptop, without the keyboard and battery problems of other netbooks such as the MSI Wind. And at 299, definitely the best value for money. But when the LG X110 becomes available, perhaps we’ll change our minds. We’re yet to get our hands on one…

The Importance Of Web Design In Popular Websites
January 5th, 2009
If you may be interested in running a website and have noticed that some are better than others, this may be because the web design process was followed differently between competing websites. There are many elements that are integral to the growth of web design. People that have a great understanding of the importance of web design often produce websites that become very popular.
Web design cannot be defined as a single entity of service. Many web designers specialize in producing aesthetically pleasing websites. Some web designers want to make websites functional and produce sited with little errors while others make sure the site is optimized for web searches and more. Many people use different browsers and operating systems, which is why web designers are important to make them work on many systems.
Many websites have special elements added to them. These can be media in the form of flash, video or image data and special scripts to make the website work in order. These elements take time to develop and are generally not made by a single person. Many websites tend to copy others in an effort to look like they offer the same or better services.
Some requirements for some websites in terms of resources may be very intense. A lot of companies even upgrade their servers or choose a different hosting solution to get what they need out of their web design elements. Even if you used media and other elements hosted on other sites, your website has to be optimized so that the end user can use the elements easily.
Web designers love to make sites that will have renewing content. Visitors to your site may want to see something new each time they sign on and many users will check your site frequently. If you just need a plain static site to display your company history and whatnot, you may not need to focus too much on content. Websites that offer content that renews should be optimized to allow for easy updates for that content.
Many websites need to constantly improve on their coding and actual coding languages. Some upgrade to a completely different coding type and need to be redone from the ground up. This can be tricky but coders that are dedicated to their jobs in web design get the job done and well.

Arthur Kantrowitz and Onset of Laser Propulsion
January 5th, 2009
Arthur Kantrowitz passed away on November 29, 2008 in New York City. He was 95 years old. A founder of Avco Everett Research Laboratories, inventor of ablative rocket nose cones (reentry protection), champion of Science Court and professor of Dartmouth College, Kantrowitz will be always remembered as a forefront figure of American scientific community of 20th century. However, in this brief note I would like to say few words about one of his greatest contributions to mankind: his key role in development of laser propulsion.
Laser Propulsion is a part of advanced rocket science, but the concept is so simple, that you dont have to be a rocket scientist to grasp it. Do you know that on average we pay ten grand per every pound of a payload delivered to low earth orbit. Sounds a bit pricey. Unfortunately, we have no choice, because the only way to deliver that pound is to use a rocket, hydrogen (mainly) burning tube (most sophisticated in modern technology), filled with fuel, oxidizer, cryogenics, tanks, lines, etc. with a little room for a cargo. It is inefficient to carry all fuel onboard, and so is the price. If only we could separate the source of burning energy from the vehicle, deliver this energy from outside, the savings on weight and efficiency will be dramatic.
The energy can be beamed to the rocket with powerful lasers! The original idea on beaming energy to a space rocket was invented by Konstantin Tsiolkovsky in 1924. Genius and visionary, Tsiolkovsky could not know about lasers (the first laser was demonstrated in 1960), so he was talking about tight beams of light, beamed to a rocket and hence providing it with necessary energy or, in other words, making the rocket much more energy efficient. In 1924 all this was just a dream, a few decades later Arthur Kantrowitz presented the world with scientifically sound plan for turning this dream into reality.
In 1972 Arthur Kantrowitz published in Astronautics and Aeronautics Propulsion to Orbit by Ground Based Lasers, a scientific paper which started a new field: laser propulsion. In this paper Kantrowitz proposed to change our very approach to space launches: instead of building larger (and even less energy-efficient rockets), start using high-power lasers for space launches of small satellites. Such satellites would literally straddle the tip of laser beam, focused on their propellant area. When high power laser beam is focused (even loosely) on a solid matter, such matter is evaporated and ionized almost instantaneously, i.e. the release of energy is much higher than one used from burning hydrogen in rockets. So, laser-driven vehicle will be still flying on the same rocket principle, but exhaust energy and structural lightness will be incomparably superior to hydrogen-burning rockets.
Driven by laser rocket will be composed of very light focusing mirrors, relatively small (energy efficient) solid propellant and, voila: the rest will be payload! Forget heavy liquefied gases (oxygen and hydrogen), cryogenics, fuel tanks and lines, combustion chambers, etc.: Payload, Propellant and Photons, Period! Arthur Kantrowitz called it 4P Rule. Bottom line: scientifically sound calculations have shown that the price of one pound of a payload delivered to low earth orbit will be drop to $100. Laser propulsion offers 100-fold, revolutionary savings on space deliveries.
The paper of Kantrowitz was like a manifesto, an opening to a new technological paradigm, well thought, clearly formulated and delivered. For those who never worked in science, this can be compared to a person who says, hey, here is a diamond field, and I am showing you exactly how to get there. He was a real forerunner, so he started at Avco Everett Research Labs the first in the world research program on laser propulsion. Ten years later other research groups joined the cause, ten more years first laser-driven demo missions were launched (not into space yet, but into air). New studies were opened in Russia, Japan, Germany, China, new forms of beamed-energy propulsion were discovered and explored (microwave propulsion). It is amazing how the field that involved hundreds and yet attracts new hundreds of scientists and engineers was once just a pure immaterial thought of a visionary. So he was a visionary, Arthur Kantrowitz, the founding father of laser propulsion, and he will be always remembered.

Free Full Downloadable Games - Tips For Newbies
January 5th, 2009
Free full downloadable games are now available on the World Wide Web. They are in fact getting a lot of attention from techies, internet savvies, game addicts and the like. Some people may find this unbelievable, but technology knows such a word. These days, it is possible to fully download games for free.
Downloading games for free, though, must be done with caution. After all, it is common knowledge that sites that allow full download of games for free are usually infected with spyware and viruses, thus downloading games from such sites can transmit these dreaded viruses in your own system, causing a lot of damage in the process. Spyware can hack your system and steal pertinent data about you, while viruses can of course cause your computer to crash.
Other sites do allow free full download of games but only for a limited time. This means that you can play the full version of the game only for a trial period. When that period expires, you will be asked to register in order to play the games at your convenience.
This is often viewed as a marketing strategy to lure gamers into buying the product, as it is usually the case; and this may hold true for any product, once you have tested something and liked it, there’s no reason for you not to buy it. This strategy is proving very effective indeed.
Some sites will offer you a free download of games, but the free version does not have the full features of the game. If you want something good, it is only naturally that you to pay for it.
If you want to play games for free but do not want to spend a fortune, then you can go for the first option at your own risk. Otherwise, the better option is to try the product first, so you can decide if you find it worth the price you will be paying for.
Considering all these, there appears to be no 100% free full downloadable games that are risk-free. You can take your chances with free sites, but you are cautioned of the possible repercussions they can bring. If downloading from these sites destroys your computer, you can spend a lot more to have it repaired. Nothing comes free anymore, at least not the good ones and the high quality ones that you deserve.
For more information about free full downloadable games, take a look at my blog.
